The Mysterious Adventure...

So, it's about that time....
I am about to depart for a far away, exotic land in a few days for perhaps one of the craziest adventures I have ever participated in.
I'm excited...a bit nervous and anxious to get under way.

And yes, I do wish I could disclose more details on what it is that I'm doing... but sadly, I am under contract to not discuss any details about where I'm going and what exactly the adventure consists of.
Soon enough though the whole story will be told... as this event will broadcast all summer on ABC.
Until then...the shroud of silence will continue. My next blog post will be on my return in late April.
Happy Spring!

Our Friends at Travelcology

We are excited to be collaborating with our friends over at Travelcology.
Straight from their website, let them tell you a bit about the good they are bringing to adventure travel...

Travelcology is a sustainable, engagement marketing agency that connects people, passions, and projects through brand-integrated adventure and volunteer travel experiences. We find the natural alignments between causes and brands and weave those into experiences ranging from daily activities to life-defining trips.

Ongoing, authentic engagement transforms vocal and influential cause advocates into loyal brand ambassadors.

Vision

We envision a world where adventure travel, active lifestyles, volunteering and supporting causes are open to everybody. This ecosystem is comprised of, and dependent on, transparent and meaningful interactions between all the stakeholders. While the process is not easy, the steps are actually quite simple:
  • Travelers book adventurous trips that include volunteer components
  • Vetted non-profits receive volunteers with relevant skills sets and work them to the bone
  • Passionate volunteers return home as informed, vocal advocates leading others to make lifestyle changes that have an impact
  • Savvy companies commit to sponsor those causes and projects and deeply engage the volunteer travelers – resulting in invaluable brand equity

More Soldiers to the Summit

On the way to the top...
I love this photo. My great buddy Chris Morris and I are discussing something that seems to be very important with our pal and one of the soldiers on our Nepal trip last Fall, Matt Nyman.

Matt and I just did an interview with Iowa Public Radio (Matt is a native of Waterloo).

We are in the heavy planning stages to execute a Soldiers To The Summit...the Second Edition.
The hope is to head to Antarctica next January to climb the highest point on that continent, Mt Vinson. Much more to come on that.

And of course, the Soldiers To The Summit documentary will be released in the coming months. A continental tour will follow to support the film. Stay tuned!
